The safety training is no walk in the park – right from the start, you're confronted with the harsh reality of everything you've done wrong in your sailing career so far. It's a miracle you're still alive – well, luckily it's not quite that bad, since you did some things right, but the information input is enormous. Tips and tricks for avoiding dangers, on the one hand, and what to do when the time comes, on the other – it's simply too late to think about it. I would recommend this training to anyone who skippers, whether with friends, with family, on the lake, or on a long voyage. The only downside is that there's very little time to get to know the other participants. A longer lunch break or a shared dinner or something similar would have been desirable.
