My head is about to explode. It's the same engine model but two different dipsticks, which suggests different oil capacities... without wanting to bother you any further, would it be possible for you to check the markings on yours? The engine belongs to the generation that does not use the external cone-style air filter.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I drained all the oil using a electric suction pump and verified it when removing the drain plug. The oil looks dark in the image because the photo was taken before the oil change, at a time when I suspected it had been overfilled. I encountered the same problem after the service, but even after running the engine, the oil remained light in color, indicating very little old oil left in the engine.

Thanks for your reply. I always pre-fill the filter to avoid dry starting. In your manual, 2.8 liters is with or without filter? If it's without filter, it's normal to be 2.8 +/- 0.5 liters, totaling ~3.4 liters.

Oil quantity

I have a 1995 MD2020B and a question regarding the engine oil quantity. I drained all the oil and verified this by opening the drain plug to ensure it was empty (replaced filter also). However, after adding about 3.1 liters, the dipstick indicates an overfill. What is the correct oil capacity for this engine? Maybe its 2 different dipsticks?
