I really didn't see this coming. A shaft costing almost €700 in this quality? The key was pressed into a clearly undersized keyway that couldn't be removed even with professional tools – ultimately, you do more harm than good. Is there no incoming goods inspection anymore? If I hadn't been under such pressure, I would have returned the part. Now, my frustration was compounded by an 800 km drive and the aforementioned time. Working with a file and angle grinder on a brand-new shaft is incredibly nerve-wracking. The key couldn't even be removed with the subsequently added extraction threads, which speaks volumes about the brute force with which the key was pressed into the keyway... Fortunately, there were no visible hammer marks.
