Hi Wolfgang, I just read your message today. I don't have that problem. The rudder shaft turns quite easily. I opened it up last winter to check it out. There were no seals or bearings inside. There’s just some grease on the shaft. There used to be a small cup attached to it that I’d turn a quarter turn once or twice a year. But even that was too much for me.
