Turbo Causes Trouble
Every year, my turbo cuts out: It drops from 3,000 to 2,500 RPM. The maximum speed drops from 9.5 to less than 7 knots.
It spews soot like an old Mercedes diesel starting at 2,300 RPM. I’ve already consulted five “experts.” No solution to the problem in sight. Annual disassembly and cleaning for €1,000. That can’t be right, can it? The engine is 5 years old and has 450 hours on the clock. Model “D.”
