I have the previous model, but that's irrelevant. During the initial quick test after unpacking, I got Error 30. After a few attempts to plug and unplug it, it worked; you always look for the problem yourself first. Unfortunately, I now have the product in Greece. It always starts with error message E30 until I spray contact cleaner into the connectors. This is practically a brand new product straight out of the box! Would you even attempt to get ashore in a dinghy in 4 Beaufort winds like that? Luckily, I still have my old petrol engine. Through a mishap, I lost the kill switch (only one was included, and at that price!). I emailed Torqeedo to ask where I could get spare parts in Greece. The verdict: customer service is nonexistent. I then did some research in forums. There are constant mentions of corrosion and unsuitable materials. One person converted a diesel engine to run on two 10 kW engines. He's throwing them out; the loss is well into five figures. Do your own research!

And the fact that the Volvo Penta MD2020, unlike all engines, cannot be de-oiled using just a push-on hose isn't the manufacturer's fault. A suitable push-on hose for this would be the icing on the cake.

...why on earth not use the same holes as the same-sized predecessor model with a light bulb? In practice, somewhere in a Mediterranean harbor, that means mounting it offset with one screw instead of two, or drilling into the V4A pulpit freehand with a small cordless drill.

Battery life 10 years

The aluminum sheet was apparently bent by hand without a template. You have to screw it on before screwing the bracket to the railing, since the nuts are on the inside. Unfortunately, the sheet then lies halfway over the other screws. Furthermore, two screws run from front to back, and the other two from back to front. This way, the same plastic part could be used twice. I would have preferred to pay an extra 2-3 euros, but it would have been cheaper to install and would have included a quality assurance system. But OK, the price-performance ratio is good, and the light with the two-wire principle for switching on is great.
