My wife and I each have one of these transmitters in our life jackets, and it works really well. We've tried it more than once, albeit very reluctantly. That's exactly where the problem lies. You put it in your life jacket according to the instructions and activate it. Now, only the small gray slider keeps the transmitter from triggering an alarm. If you keep taking your vest off and on, it can happen that the small slider slips and suddenly triggers an alarm completely unintentionally. This happened to us twice in the first year and then again the following year. Help always came immediately, and the alarms were exactly what you'd want. We just didn't have an emergency. That's why, since 2019, we've only been carrying these transmitters with a backup and have to activate them manually if necessary. Admittedly, that wasn't quite the idea behind our purchase. So we're currently thinking very carefully about what to do next. The expiration date has passed, but we'd like to have a similar transmitter in our vest again. But which one? ``` Therefore, this is only a very conditional recommendation to buy.
