I really wanted a lockable cap. But now, after a few years, I have to buy the same cap again in the non-lockable version. The reason is that the plastic thread of the cap rubs against the hard metal thread of the spout. Frequent use on my ETAP 37s has damaged the plastic thread so much that I can only open and close the cap with pliers. Even with maximum force, I can only tighten the cap to a gap of about 1 cm from the spout – and I'm afraid I'll break it even more. Just to be safe, I tape over this gap every time. This thread damage probably shouldn't happen, but it obviously can. It's a shame, because otherwise it's a nice cap. But the non-lockable cap also has a metal thread – which now seems very sensible to me.
