The product itself works perfectly, and unlike a mechanical float switch, the pump cannot be triggered by leaking oil, diesel, or gasoline in the bilge. However, what was missing was the spring mentioned in the manufacturer's instructions for regular testing after installation. Without this spring, testing deep in the bilge is difficult. The manufacturer's suggestion to pour water into the bilge until the switch activates is hardly practical. Despite my complaint, I have unfortunately received this spring neither from the manufacturer nor from SVB support.
