Overall, a well-designed product, but with one major drawback: There is no attachment point for a safety lanyard to secure it to a life jacket. All surfaces of the casing are covered with something. The small strap with the carabiner is a trigger, not an attachment point. In an emergency, you have to unwind the antenna wrapped around the device while in the water and hold it as high above the surface as possible. You have to keep a constant grip on the device and must not drop it, as it is not attached to your body. If the user loses consciousness, the rescuer will find the floating device, but not the person who dropped it. This also applies to the subsequent models, which have the same nonsensical casing.
