Hi Wolfgang, Gregor described it perfectly. Before using a nut splitter, you should definitely try using good tools first. In my car, the engine compartment around the alternator is so tight that an open-end wrench only fits to hold the nut in place. Then loosen it with a long ratchet, a socket extension, and the right socket. Use plenty of WD-40 or Caramba and let it sit for a while. If the bolt isn’t completely rusted solid, you just need enough force. Best regards, Albrecht
