Since you are apparently changing everything, I'd like to add that my cutlass bearing was 30/45/120 or fully metric even though HR store claims that old 30mm shaft systems had cutlass bearing in metric/imperial size 30/44,45/127.

I've heard that if you manage to remove cutless bearing (or housing), you can just pull the shaft out. Not possible with the bearing in place.
Then again, I didn't even try to test than when I replaced the shaft since the engine was out.
If I ever have to replace the cutlass bearing or the shaft, I'll probably use the steering wheel pedestal bolts to create lifting point for the engine rear end. Front end can be jacked with some wooden blocks. It is, after all, only some 100mm of lifting that needs to be done to get the shaft out

Original shaft length in mine (no11) with MD21A engine was 1145mm end to end, or around 1037....1040mm from shaft end to start of the conical surface or propeller.
