Thanks for the reply Rolandas K. Refilling the refrigerant seems to be an option. I don't think you can do it yourself, a specialist (refrigeration engineer) will probably have to do it. Finding one will probably not be easy. I have heard that the refrigerator reaches its limits at outside temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius. Detlef from the Stella

The refrigerator on my Bavaria 38cruiser built in 2008 does not seem to provide the cooling capacity. I am moored with my boat in the Greek Aegean. The cooling temperature in summer is approx. 10 degrees Celsius (outside temperature 33-38 degrees Celsius). Has anyone had similar experiences - could it be that the refrigerant needs to be topped up or the refrigeration unit needs to be replaced? I would be very grateful for any experience.
