Vanne à sphère, bronze
Avoid these jokes at all costs
In 2021 during the refit of our boat, I hesitated between composite vanes or this one in bronze.
Unfortunately I opted for bronze, thinking I would be quiet for a few years....
Today in 2025, 4 of my 1"12 valves have their axis broken...
I find myself having to take my boat out of the water after 4 years just for these valves..
You should know that I live on board and that I handle them every month to prevent marine life from blocking them....
Very very very disappointed... This jeopardizes our passage through the Panama Canal... This incident will cost us a few thousand euros...
A word of advice: Choose another brand or brass... Half the price but same lifespan!!
