Doesnt expand as it should Complete rubbish dont waste your money

This unit is fine if you are installing a chain counter for the first time on your boat but as a replacement for the the CHC1203 it is not a simple esercisce I purchased this to replace the CHC1203 model on my boat which stopped working after 6 years of service and is discontinued and replaced with this model Unfortunately this model now needs a much bigger cut out in the fibreglass 100 mm square instead of the 70mm round I had for the old model The replacement installation was difficult because of space constraints winch position etc Why couldnt they have kept the same dimensions and make the replacement installation simple plug and play ? why the need to change a good product? Presumably the bigger unit is cheaper to make and I note it has a cheap hard plastic cover instead of the quality rubber on the previous model Hopefully this unit will work well and if i ever need to replace it I dont have to modify the installation cut out even bigger for a newer model
