The 12V socket makes a good initial impression, like other products from the manufacturer. The sturdy, self-closing flap with seal was particularly convincing in my decision to buy it (despite the higher price). What's really annoying, however, is that the socket has a surprisingly deep interior. This means that only very long, slim plugs can make electrical contact. If the plug is slightly shorter or even slightly thicker at the back, the socket unfortunately can't be used. Even a good standard 12V plug barely fits here (I doubt it would make permanent contact). Unfortunately, some USB adapters didn't fit either! The only advantage is that you could probably leave very slim, flush-fitting 12V USB adapters in the socket. I think that was the manufacturer's primary intention. The internally installed red LED looks nice, but somehow doesn't make sense to me. So far, I've had better experiences with the BLUE SEA 12V socket (SVB No. 11850). Good quality, universally applicable, and significantly less expensive.
