Due to my negative experience and review, SVB contacted me and responded promptly. I then sent the mooring line to SVB for inspection free of charge, and the line was replaced. - Great response and great service, especially because the sales manager took care of it himself. - Where else can you find something like that? I was really pleasantly surprised and assume I had a Monday product.

I've had the mooring line on my boat over the winter season and chose the heavy-duty mooring line for this application. One of the four is already pretty worn through and about to break. At first I was impressed by the good shock absorption, but after constant use it's becoming apparent that the leather covering on one of the four I bought is wearing away. What's a no-go, however, is that the second mooring line is so worn through that it would probably have given up the next time it was subjected to heavier use. The outer fabric is gone and the inner white core is pretty tattered. And that's on a normal bollard in a marina - no sharp edges etc. So no good if the boat is constantly exposed to movement from wind, currents and wakes. Unfortunately I can't upload a photo. In contrast, my cheap black and white ones have lasted for several years without any signs of wear. They don't look that great but they work. The one star is for the look when you buy them and the feel when you touch them.
