Hello, if you force it, you risk breaking it. You can replace the wheel; not too much seawater will get in. Otherwise, remove the hose and plug the valve with a pinoche (conical plug).

Hello, what are your indicators of overheating? An audible alarm, a visual alarm, or steam? Is there sufficient water flow coming out of the exhaust elbow? Yes, you should check the heat exchanger regularly and descale it if necessary. There’s a tutorial on YouTube for that. Best regards
