There’s a plug on the unused end of the diesel return line; it costs 25 euros. If it gets old and brittle, diesel will eventually leak out during operation. A small preventive expense with a big impact… Alternatively, you can also slip a piece of hose over it and secure it with a screw as a stopper, if you happen to have the right piece of hose on hand…
Otherwise, you’ll end up with a big diesel puddle in the engine compartment…

fuel return line end cap
To avoid any unpleasant surprises, I recommend replacing the fuel return line end cap as a preventive measure if it's an older part… It costs 25 euros….

gr60 and gr10 for the small low-profile ones—if I remember correctly, replacing them is easy:
Use a utility knife to cut through the sealant from the side, and maybe from the bottom as well…
