A great help in marinas and sometimes even at anchor. The damper absorbs the strongest jerks from the system and yields up to half a meter, depending on the number of rope wraps. Very comfortable, and it looks well-made. It's important not to skimp on the size, but to choose one appropriately sized for the actual weight of the boat; otherwise, a damper that's too weak will simply stretch out or break.

Unfortunately, in the harsh South Pacific climate, this regulator only lasts 1-2 years before it falls apart or rusts quite badly. I expected more from a "MARINE" regulator, as standard camping regulators are cheaper and last almost as long.

After many years in the sun, the old part has a brownish discoloration and is no longer as attractive. However, it still works perfectly, and the replacement is purely cosmetic. We use the heel indicator primarily to ensure the generator's safe operation, as it can experience problems with the oil supply at a roll of 15 degrees. Overall, though, it's a nice tool, also for reefing and generally monitoring the boat, even in harbor or when loaded on one side.

The locking latches gave up the ghost after many years, so I ordered new ones. Installation is simple, replacing the handles is easy, and having a few in stock can't hurt. Unfortunately, Lewmar replacement parts are extremely expensive for the plastic, but without a 3D printer and the necessary know-how, you can't avoid it. Shipping and purchase from SVB were, as always, flawless and fast. Thank you very much!

We use the handheld depth sounder to navigate shallow reef passages, to assess the anchorage in murky waters within the anchor's swing radius, or simply to check the water depth with the dinghy. Very satisfied, waterproof, easy to use, highly recommended.
