That's right. That's why the engine key is welded to the alternator key with a ring so you can never put them on at the same time.My propeller shaft alternator can generate power consumption (at night) without any problems when we sail.

I have no arch for solar panels because I have a windvane steering system. The propeller shaft alternator works at at so not disassembled yet. But this is the same alternator as the alternator at the engine. Did you turn the little key? It's just to the right of the entrance above by the passageway to the aft cabin.
