Product details

The cooling water flow detector AQUALARM is unique and was developed specifically for the requirements in the maritime sector. It is even patented. It controls an audible and / or visual alarm emitter (optional). So any interruption of the cooling water influx is displayed (eg when a filter / water cock is clogged or when an impeller is defective, etc.).
The AQUALARM is installed between the seawater strainer and the impeller in the seawater circulation and not only protects single-circuit-cooled motors from overheating, but also prevents existing dual-circuit cooling seawater pumps and exhaust system from getting damaged.
New: With paddle detector for an even more reliability. Improvement of the switching contact's maximum load to max. 3 amps (@12 volts) instead of 0.5 A of the previous models.

The AQUALARM is available in three versions for different flow rates available and it is thus suitable for every inboard engine, auxiliary engine or other pumps.
Select the appropriate option for your application.
Note: A subsequent individual adjustment to the cooling water flow is not possible.

Better safe than sorry
Have the product together with a seawater filter at Volvo SX drive installed on a 4.3 Gi engine. Installation is easy with a little flush on the threads and good tools. I now also connected the sensor with an LED lamp and a piezo signal generator. Thank God, I can turn off the piezo with a switch so that only the lamp remains as an optically conspicuous signal. The problem is that the flow rate in the standby gas does not bedet the switch so that the signal goes off. As soon as I give gas and the flow is increased everything is good. I have taken the 1 12 "because this corresponded to the 32 mm hose. Perhaps it would have been advisable only to select the 1" guard, so that the speed of the standpipe in the standpipe is also sufficient to move the switch. For myself, the primary warning is sufficient by the LED and I can switch on the cruise control, yes, the akoustische signal optional. Product itself makes a robust and stable impression.

Great thing, unfortunately already broken.
After installation it was easy to control the cooling water flow. Unfortunately, after 14 days a hairline appeared in the upper part. Certainly not a problem by the warranty if only the stupid building and expansion would not be.

A little expensive (in the US it costs half price) but indispensable, it sounds as soon as the flow of water is stopped. It's super easy to install, even for a non-manual. Before I'd broken 2 times the engine, 1 time with seaweed and 1 time with a plastic bag. More cooling, it squeezes right away and the engine and good for breakage. Since I'm quiet.

Excellent alarm sensor with which the alarm threshold can be precisely adjusted. Have two of them in operation, on the engine and the generator. The generator often breaks the impeller blades with me and the reduction in the flow rate signals this sensor long before the generator switches off with overtemperature. Only a bit pricey. In the US, the same sensor costs just over 40 dollars. Nevertheless - absolutely recommendable.
