The single plain bearing blocks with swivel by Barton are designed for high static loads and have a long life.


Cleaning and Maintenance of Blocks:

  • Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (carefully assist with a soft brush if necessary).
  • For heavier soiling: Soak the block in warm fresh water with a little dish soap and move the rollers (do not use harsh cleaners).
  • Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt can be forced into the bearing.
  • Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards to prevent corrosion.
  • Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – improper lubrication can impair their function.
  • Disassemble only if explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.

In general, the purchase of blocks always represents a certain investment. These blocks are initially very well made, the vortex function does what it should even under load, the rollers turn very well. I can't say anything about the long-term stability, even under the influence of salt water ... but overall very satisfied!
