Product details

Boom vang with integrated stainless steel spring. The spring holds the boom in high position, avoiding the use of a topping lift. The line is installed outside the vang for a safer operation. The vang length can be adjusted by cutting the inner tube to length. Boom and mast base fittings are available separately.

Three sizes are available:

  • size 1: 1.5 m long, for boats up to 30 feet and a boom length of 3.5 m
  • size 2: 1.8 m long, diameter 52 mm, for boats up to 44 feet and a boom length of up to 5.5 m
  • size 3: 1.8 m long, diameter 70 mm, for boats up to 55 feet and a boom length to 8.0 m

Visually, an appealing product. There is no unattractive pulley as in Selden around and a gas spring must not be bought in addition. However, I will move a plastic sleeve to isolate the spring of the aluminum tube.

Pulleys made of poor quality material
after a year all the pulleys where the top passes for the return have been cooked with the sun, surely used an unsuitable material, they are worn out and missing pieces, incredible. Apart from this manufacturing defect it works as it should, but I have to replace them because they will soon be pulverized.

Dear Sir - thank you very much. The first class 8 seams a light displacement boat. The Nemo vangs are all to strong for the boat. Maybe you can choose a Selden size 05: 42208 To choose the fittings for mast and boom (not included) please check the website Seldenmast. www.seldenmast.com
