High-performance safety equipment you can rely on

If you want to be prepared for the worst-case scenario, you are well advised to think about safety equipment on board. This also includes marine emergency call transmitters, for example from JOTRON. This means that you can rely on rapid rescue in the event of a life-threatening situation and can feel safe and approach your boat trip with a clear conscience, regardless of whether you are on a leisurely cruise near the coast or a challenging ocean voyage.

Who is JOTRON?

The JOTRON headquarters are located in Ringdalskogen, Norway, and the company can look back on over 50 years of company history. JOTRON currently has 330 employees in branches on three continents and has locations in Lithuania, Singapore, Great Britain, China and the USA. Sales and service are provided in close co-operation with an extensive network of international partner companies.

The product portfolio

The company offers a wide range of communication and safety equipment for boats. In detail, the product portfolio includes EPIRB and PLB marine radio transmitter technology as well as radios (VHF), automatic identification systems (AIS), search and rescue transponders (SART) and many other communication and safety products.

The EPIRB and PLB emergency radio beacons have been specially developed for use in harsh marine and offshore environments. These emergency radio transmitters are mainly used on boats and ships, but can also be used by hikers during outdoor activities as well as skiers, canoeists and snowmobilers. In an emergency, an EPIRB or PLB emergency beacon sends out a radio signal that transmits the exact location of a person in distress. Both systems are satellite-based and, when activated, a radio signal is sent to satellites in the COMPAS-SARSAT system. This allows the exact location of a person in distress to be determined and search and rescue missions to be carried out more quickly and efficiently.
