Emil Feder first got into sailing at the beginning of the 1970s. He was quickly dissatisfied with the use of the then common clamp / cam cleat. He was particularly annoyed with the way he had to haul in 1 to 2 cm in order to be able to pull apart the cleat jaws. Since most sailors are also hobbyists, Feder built his own prototype and optimised it until he was satisfied with the material, shape and performance. The servo cam cleat was born! What distinguishes the new Servo Cleat? Above the clamping surfaces is a V-shaped gap whose teeth spiral outwards and to the tip. The shape allows vertical pressure to be converted by the sheet into rotary movement of the jaws.
