Actually, it would be too early to evaluate it... we would have to wait a bit.... As the title says, it's a little early to evaluate this product but I will evaluate the ease of installation and the behavior it has had so far. In 30 minutes, it installs and cools properly. Maybe a little underpowered although my fridge is a 100lt... however the cost for the combo makes up for it for now.

If you often sail in cooler waters and want to fit your boat with a small volume cooler (up to 130 litres), then the series 55-07 ColdMachine set with Danfoss BD 35F air-cooled compressor and O-shaped evaporator is for you.

An entry-level set at a great price!

This starter-set is suitable for smaller refrigeration capacities and for use in cold waters, such as the North and Baltic Sea. Choosing the type of evaporator depends on where you want to install it, the cooling capacity and of course your individual demands. This set contains an O-shaped VD 01 evaporator. Power consumption 35 watt.

The O-evaporator has self-sealing valve couplings, a flexible connection pipe of about 2 m, a continuously adjustable thermostat, electrical supply approx. 3 m.

The units are delivered ready for connection to 12/24 volts and including a fully adjustable thermostat (for external installation with blue turning knob and LED indicator, white plastic housing).

Cooling unit cu 55 set for self-installation.

The installation instructions worked perfectly, and the installation was completed in an hour. The unit does what it's supposed to, but it's largely identical to our 16-year-old, previously installed cooling unit. I would have expected a bit of innovation after such a long time. The power consumption (amperes measured after commissioning) is exactly the same, and the fan is even slightly louder, though not excessively loud.
