The Combiflex flexible shaft coupling from Vetus combines the very best features of the UNIFLEX and BULLFLEX models at a low price. It provides effective damping of torsional vibrations caused by cyclic irregularities, especially at low revs. The flexible rubber element ensures low-noise and vibration-free transmission, without play between the engine and the propeller shaft. The Combiflex coupling is secured against shearing off, both axially and radially, thus ensuring safe transmission at all times. It also provides excellent alignment of the propeller shaft, normally a rather time consuming affair. Even with a 2 degree misalignment, the shaft will remain exactly centred on the gearbox flange. The parallel clamping hub facilitates assembly and ensures easy disassembly of the shaft assembly. Unlike a tapered clamping hub, no costly machining of the shaft, tapering and keyway-cutting are required. Simply cut the shaft to length, free of burrs, degrease and install. The Combiflex has a 4” flange to fit most common gearbox models. Special adapter flanges are available for the most popular Volvo, Yanmar and Kanzaki gearboxes. Not approved for V-type gearboxes.
