If you often sail in cooler waters and want to fit your boat with a small volume cooler (up to 50 litres), then the series 55-02 ColdMachine set with Danfoss BD 35F air-cooled compressor and flat-shaped evaporator is for you.

An entry-level set at a great price!

This starter-set is suitable for smaller refrigeration capacities and for use in cold waters, such as the North and Baltic Sea. Choosing the type of evaporator depends on where you want to install it, the cooling capacity and of course your individual demands. This set contains an flat-shaped VD 02 evaporator. Power consumption 35 watt.

The flat evaporator has self-sealing valve couplings, a flexible connection pipe of about 2 m, a continuously adjustable thermostat, electrical supply approx. 3 m.

The units are delivered ready for connection to 12/24 volts and including a fully adjustable thermostat (for external installation with blue turning knob and LED indicator, white plastic housing).

Cooling unit cu 55 set for self-installation.

The installation instructions worked perfectly, and the installation was completed in an hour. The unit does what it's supposed to, but it's largely identical to our 16-year-old, previously installed cooling unit. I would have expected a bit of innovation after such a long time. The power consumption (amperes measured after commissioning) is exactly the same, and the fan is even slightly louder, though not excessively loud.

Outstanding customer service!!!

We bought this device about 3 years ago. Function is great, cools 1a, low power consumption. Then suddenly he did not do anything but consume power permanently but did not cool anymore. Possibly. if it is an installation mistake on my part, if necessary clutches are not sufficiently tightened and creeping minimal coolant leaked. So at least the probable diagnosis of Dometic. Now to service, of course, man has the device off and on again (about 2 hours of work maximum! How bad ... - as if man as a sailor is not used to work in his hobby ... so much to another Review here!). We sent the device directly to Dometic with a short description. After about two weeks we have checked it, newly filled with new couplings, etc. on KULANZ completely FREE, because otherwise no further defect was observed. We did not even have to pay for the return shipment. And after the expiration of the guarantee, so in my opinion a superior service of the company Dometic! Thanks a lot for this!
