DOMETIC TS-1 temperature sensor, suitable for MCA chargers & DCC charging converters, pre-assembled with 7.5 m connection cable.
As a general rule, if you have maintenance-free lead/acid, GEL or AGM batteries on board and these batteries are located, for example, in the hot engine compartment, you should consider charging the batteries at a suitable temperature.
The parameters of modern chargers are adapted to battery temperatures of 20 - 25 °C (room temperature).
If there are large temperature deviations, there is a danger that the batteries may begin to emit gases at higher temperatures* or that the charging voltage at low temperatures is insufficient for optimum charging.
The use of a temperature sensor provides a solution. This senses the battery temperature and controls the level of the charging voltage to the optimum value.
Use the DOMETC TS-1 to upgrade your DOMETIC MCA or DCC chargers for temperature-adjusted battery charging. Installation is very simple. The metal plate of the sensor is screwed to the PLUS or MINUS battery terminal. Run the 7.5 meter long cable to the charger and plug it into the charger's sensor socket - done! The charger takes care of the rest without you having to do a thing.
*Gases mean that the battery loses water. With maintenance-free lead/acid or closed valve-regulated GEL or AGM batteries, this can be seen as premature wear and tear, as no distilled water can be refilled with these battery types.
