The New Standard in Synthetic Teak Decking

Premium quality, strong and fully UV stabilised synthetic teak decking that gives the deck of your boat an aesthetic teak look and is made to withstand harsh sun and salty conditions. The unique structure provides your deck with a non-slip wet or dry surface for safety in all conditions. while the rough texture feels realistically close to that of real teak. With a material thickness of 4.8 mm, NUTEAK is thicker than comparable deck coverings and compensates for small irregularities on the floor surface. The greatly improved male-female attachment system features a drop down profile with 300% more bonding surface between strips, and the vertical leg eliminates possible lateral movement of the strips.

No oiling, painting or sanding necessary

The planks are curved

After receiving them, due most likely to a manufacturing issue, we discovered that the plank is curved to one side and it has "waves" in the material. It cannot be straightened because it will create waves in the material on the "longer" side and it cannot be glued properly. Check the attached picture.
Some time ago the manufacturers where a lot more customer oriented and would have been trying to fix this issue but this one is not taking any responsibility in what is most likely a manufacturing problem.
I strongly recommend avoiding this product.

thank you for your feedback. We have contacted the manufacturer immediately. This is the answer:

Dear customer,

we are sorry for your inconveniences, but for us that don't look like a product fail.

NuTeak is made from a flexibel and thermo elastic material.
This is also the reason why we can roll it.
Rolling is a kind of stress for the material and it can be that the planks are not straight after roll out.
And still if they are looking straight after roll out, they are not 100% straight.
But you can easyly straight it.

When you start to build panels, you have to care about that the first plank is straight.
Otherwise everything will be crooked.
Either you have a straight bar where you can push the plank and straight it or you use a rule and weights.
Without weights it will very hard to get straight lines.
Every time you put 2 planks together and push it, the planks will move a bit.
Also you need a temperature of minimum 17°C, or the material is too inflexible

So you straight the first plank at the rule and fix it with some weight at the full length.
Also you have to control the straightness every some rows.
