A sturdy backpack with stitch-free, welded seams. 30 litres of storage space for you to carry all your gear, and thanks to the roll down closure and side release fastenings, you can create a watertight seal. A large front pocket on the VOYAGER features a waterproof zipper and a clear map window. But this bag doesn't only protect your items from water, inside is a padded zippered compartment to protect your delicate items from shocks, plus two outer mesh pockets provide handy space for water bottles and the multiple attachment points offer secure stowage even in rough seas. Great product with a serious weakness and a small design flaw

The backpack's workmanship, water resistance, and layout are excellent, and it meets my needs perfectly.

The zipper on the clear compartment is a bit of a disaster, however. The coating on the top is peeling off, and the zipper is stiff if the two sides aren't aligned exactly, which isn't easy on a backpack with a clear compartment when packing quickly.

SVB has already replaced the backpack once, easily and in a truly customer-friendly manner. Kudos!

Second flaw: The carrying straps are only loosely connected. The hooks are only secure under load. Without a load, they occasionally fall off. For a backpack that shouldn't end up in the harbor, that's really a no-go. That makes you think about it with such an experienced company like GILL...
I'm keeping it now, despite the repeated errors and minor flaws, because otherwise I simply like the backpack. A backpack like this is only human...

Great design, but not waterproof

I love the minimalist design, so I gave the backpack a second chance (after returning the first one). My guess is that the seams go from the back padding through the back panel to the sewn-in pocket, as the inside gets wet if you leave it standing in the wet (without applying pressure). So I would only recommend it for everyday use, it can handle a short rain shower well.

I kept the second backpack, even though it has the same problem with the leaky seams, because I was otherwise very impressed with the design. I needed a splash-proof backpack, with a pocket that could fit my 15.7'' (35.5 cm 22 cm 2 cm) laptop, and it just about fits. So it meets my needs in that sense and I like to use it for weekend trips.
