We are having to change our heating element a lot - 4 times since September, in a winter berth, in a hard water marina in Italy. Never had to do it before. We have now got another and also changed the thermostat. Better to reduce from 1200w to 800w and any other suggestions please, as it is constantly blowing the electrics? Last one lasted 2 weeks. It is a Quick boiler.

Normally yes, but compare the power data. You can get 500 W (item 40132), 800 W (17827) and this one, 1200 W (40131). The suitable thermostat is 35978. The heating elements are supplied with a gasket. A single gasket is 40130.
