Makes a really good first impression Dampening behavior is impeccable so far and significantly better than the Handy Elastic from Liros. Hopefully, the firm leather coating will last longer than the Liros abrasion protection. Long-term test is of course still pending.

Product details

This high-quality mooring line is made out of highly flexible Dock-Flex rope. The 60 cm spliced eye is covered with a genuine leather sheath. The other end is fitted with a Flemish eye. Colour: titanium with blue marking thread.

Leather is a natural product. Due to the nature of the material, variations in colour and structure are unavoidable.

Number of mooring lines

Ideally, a boat is secured with four mooring lines.
The stern line is attached to the stern of the boat to maintain a constant distance between the boat and the mooring. The bow line serves exactly the same purpose. The two springs prevent the boat from drifting forwards and backwards. The springs are particularly important in waters with high and low tides or in waters with strong currents.


Cleaning ropes
Please note the following when cleaning/washing in the washing machine:

  • Only wash rope in a cotton bag.
  • Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees.
  • Do not use regular detergent (you can find a possible alternative here).
  • Polyamide must not be machine washed.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not tumble dry the rope.

The Dockflex-Festmacher I use as a permanent Festmacher in the home port as well as on the way. After a season I am very satisfied. They lie well in the hand when mooring; No problem with kinks.
