Corrosion protection in case of drying out in the mud

After discovering some initial severe corrosion, I electrically connected the inlet to the ship's aluminum anode (for brackish water). Now 9 years later no further corrosion is visible. Tested with a rubber mallet the part is still tight. Conclusion User error - the inlet should be connected to the Borderde.
