Reliable fouling protection for the entire season
Boatguard 100 self-polishing antifouling from International provides effective protection for the underwater hull of boats. It reliably prevents the adhesion of slime, algae, and other fouling, helping to maintain the vessel’s performance and speed throughout the entire season.
Self-polishing technology for optimal performance
Thanks to its innovative self-polishing (eroding) formula, the coating wears away in a controlled manner while the vessel is in motion. Active ingredients are continuously released while maintaining a smooth surface. This reduces water resistance and ensures lower fuel consumption as well as reduced maintenance.
Versatile use on various substrates
Boatguard 100 is suitable for use in saltwater, freshwater, and brackish water, performing best in areas with light to moderate fouling. It can be applied to GRP, wood, steel, and lead, and is compatible with many existing antifouling systems.
Flexible processing and easy application
The antifouling can be easily applied by roller, brush, or spray and offers good coverage of approx. 8–10 m² per litre. It can be applied up to 6 months before launching, offering maximum flexibility in seasonal preparation. Short drying times enable efficient work.

Application instructions
Technical specifications
- Application temperature: +5° C to +35° C
- Drying time at 15 °C: 45 minutes (dust dry)
- Recoating time at 15 °C: approx. 10 hours (minimum)
Can be applied over most antifoulings provided they are in good condition. Not suitable for use on aluminum or galvanized substrates and not compatible with PTFE-based antifoulings.
For coated surfaces
- In good condition: Remove fouling, dirt, and loose layers. Then wet sand with suitable abrasive paper to create a stable surface.
- In poor condition: Completely remove old antifouling layers and rebuild the substrate accordingly.
GRP: Clean and degrease. If necessary, apply a suitable primer such as International Primocon, then apply 2–3 coats of Boatguard 100.
Bare gelcoat: Thoroughly clean and degrease. Then pre-treat with a suitable primer (e.g. Primocon or an osmosis protection system) and apply 2–3 coats of Boatguard 100.
Wood: Sand and clean the surface. Prime with a suitable primer and then apply 2–3 coats of Boatguard 100.
Steel/lead: Thoroughly remove rust, sand, and clean the substrate. Prime with a suitable corrosion protection system and then apply 2–3 coats of Boatguard 100.
All substrates: Thoroughly clean and degrease before application. For optimal protection, an annual recoat of 1–2 layers is recommended, depending on usage and sailing area.
Not suitable for aluminium or galvanised substrates!
