The product is good. However, since we have very salty water in the harbor, the heating element has to be replaced every year. This isn't the heating element's fault, however, but rather the water.

I forgot to unplug the water heater in the winter. Maybe it was because something went wrong in the winter. In the spring, the residual current device tripped. My measurements showed a fault in the heating element. So I bought a new one from SVB. The installation was problem-free, the residual current device stays in place, everything is sealed and there is hot water for the shower again.
Removing the defective part was by no means problem-free. You can read about it. When I had to thread the part out, I was almost desperate. I threaded it for about an hour and got nowhere. Then I loosened the nuts of the heating element from the flange and it worked. The assembly of the part with the new heating element screwed on even worked with the seal on. I did have to apply pressure to the flange and seal. So unscrew the nuts of the heating element before you loosen the flange. You'll twist the thing in the process, but it's supposed to come out anyway.
