hot water boiler from Isotemp Got the 50l version, and I've been at peace with it for years. The boiler is heated by the water from the internal engine circuit using a heat exchanger. The very hot 50l is enough to allow three people to shower. The good insulation ensures that you can take a very warm shower the next morning. If necessary, you can switch on the built-in heating element (230 volts) to heat up. Duration about 10-15 minutes.

Great product! I installed the smallest model (15 liters) and we are super happy with it. It stays in temperature for more than 24 hours and we are able to shower at 6 with it (in summer) thanks to the mixing valve.

Product details

BASIC hot water boilers are made of stainless steel and have an integrated heating element (230 V - 750 W), a mixing valve and polyurethane insulation.
They have been designed so that they can be installed horizontally or vertically. However, care must be taken that the connections are always directed downwards so that the boiler can be emptied. Safety valve: 7 bar. Available in different sizes.

The use outside a boat was done after careful consideration.

The water heater receives its energy from a solar system. Its connected load of 0.75 kW is a reason for the purchase. The stainless steel design was another prerequisite for the purchase. It remains to be seen how much the existing register will still be used. The unit is installed horizontally. Currently, there is a temperature sensor in the heating register.

I have additionally insulated the entire water heater and, to avoid power peaks, operate it with a power controller in the range between 150 and 350 W. (An additional benefit is a long service life of the electric heating element.)
According to the described installation, the hot water heater shuts off with the factory setting at 63 degrees C (measured in the heating register).

For my purposes, direct access to the temperature controller would have been advantageous.

The water temperature at the bottom of the tank is not clear – important for assessing Legionella growth.
