Easily switch to lithium on board with these lithium conversion kits. The set contains the most important components for converting your existing lead-acid consumer battery bank with a capacity of up to approx. 200 Ah to modern lithium technology.
High-performance lithium battery (LiFePO4) with a capacity of 100 Ah from ECO WORTHY, ideal for use on boats and in mobile homes, on campsites, in off-grid wind or solar systems, as an emergency power supply and in other energy-intensive applications. Thanks to the VICTRON B2B charger included in the set, the lithium battery is perfect for replacing the consumer battery in a dual-battery system in which the alternator and starter battery are used to charge the service battery.
Easy conversion
Converting a dual battery system with cut-off relay to lithium technology is very easy, as the components can be replaced almost 1-to-1. The old cut-off relay is replaced by the B2B charger without having to make any major changes to the rest of the electronics. It is
important that the positive cables on both sides (near the respective battery) are correctly fused. Existing cables can often continue to be used, provided they are adequately sized.
Please ensure that the cable cross-sections are suitable for the system.
Converting an existing system that uses a charging current distributor is slightly more complex because some cabling needs to be rearranged. However, the electrical work is still relatively simple. The distributor must be removed, and the alternator should only be connected to the starter battery. The B2B charger is then installed between the starter battery and the consumer (house) battery.
Important: Always ensure proper fuse protection and correct cable sizing.
The B2B charger completely replaces the cut-off relay or charging current distributor. It provides the charging profile required for lithium batteries and ensures a stable output voltage. In addition, it protects the alternator by limiting the charging current.2
This set is also ideal for expanding your system with a consumer battery, as it contains all the key components required to charge the consumer battery via the alternator.
Maximum Depth of Discharge and Long Service Life
Lithium batteries are ideal as on-board consumer batteries and offer several advantages over traditional lead-acid batteries. Due to their higher energy density, they provide comparable capacity at significantly lower weight. The battery delivers approximately 3000 charge/discharge cycles at up to 80% depth of discharge. With proper use, a service life of up to 10 years can be expected, which is three times that of a conventional lead-acid battery.
Integrated BMS
The marine lithium battery is equipped with an integrated and innovative Battery Management System (BMS). This system protects the battery against: Overvoltage Short circuits Overloading due to excessive charging or discharging currents Excessive temperatures Undervoltage. To protect the cells, the BMS automatically interrupts the charging process if the charging temperature drops below 0 °C. Once the temperature rises above 0 °C the charging process continues.
Installation Instructions and Optional Accessories
- The ANL fuse included in the delivery should be installed in the input cable to the Victron Orion TR-Smart. The MRBF fuse is connected directly to the positive terminal of the lithium battery.
- The battery is equipped with M8 threaded blind holes. A battery terminal set is available separately to connect standard battery terminals.
- No cables are included in the delivery. Please ensure that the cables used have: Sufficient cross-section. High-quality connections Properly crimped terminals
- Adequate length For marine applications, tinned cables are recommended. Carefully calculate the required cable cross-sections to minimise voltage drop. When calculating cable length, remember to include the total length of both the positive and negative cables combined.
