Care advice

Water does not damage kapok fibres, but machine washing can strain the fibres and cause them to break. For this reason, machine washing should be avoided.
Stains can be washed out by hand.
Kapok cushions must not be heated, so please only wash at lukewarm temperatures.

Its OK

My opinion is that they are ok for the pushpit rather than the wires. You have to tie them up onto the rail or wire. On the wire, they rotate easily and you end up leaning on the wrong side (where you have tied the lines together), whereas they seem to stay in place better on the rails (metal tubes) and even much better if you tie them at a junction (ie upright tubes) where don't move or slip around the wrong way.
