Product details

The marine GPS receiver features a high-sensitivity MTK chipset with 165 dBm. Even without a direct line of sight to GPS satellites, this chipset can receive GPS signals. This device features a 66 channel parallel receiver and thus allows excellent reception. NMEA 0183 capable.
The compact housing is waterproof to IPX7 and equipped with a 1"-14 UNF thread for easy installation. The connection cable has a length of 8 m and i equipped with an USB plug or as serial version with open line ends.

An sich funktioniert die Antenne einwandfrei. Die Anleitung ist jedoch sehr schlecht. Deshalb einen Stern weniger. Als ich die Antenne anschloss, bekam ich kein Signal auf mein Funkgerät. Erst als ich wagemutig einfach eine zweiten Leiter anschloss, funktionierte es auf Anhieb.

Geist aufgegeben...
Habe diese Antenne Anfang Juni 2014 erhalten und montiert. Bis letzte Woche hat einwandfrei funktioniert.
Plötzlich aber war alles aus, der PC könnte nicht mehr das Gerät erkennen.
Habe alles probiert: Anderer PC verwenden, Kabel überprüfen, neue Software probiert, Antennenelektronik testen lassen, nichts hat geholfen. Diagnose des Elektronikers: microchip hat den Geist aufgegeben...
Da bereits Saison ist, muss ich neue kaufen...

Yes, it does, if somebody still wonders. Check that kernel module pl2303 is loaded. You can then e.g. in OpenCPN connect directly to /dev/ttyUSB0 or use gpsd.
