The messages are comfortably readable by using the scroll buttons "up" and "down". The NASA - TARGET NAVTEX PRO receiver is programmable, so that you can specify from which stations you want to receive that message.

Cheap but cheap
Unfortunately, the setting possibilities are very badly limited, the device seems to come from the 80s, no comparison with a Furuno for example. The antenna is not exactly a reception miracle, with a condenser on the backstay it is however quite well with reception. The device is very slow and the only one has a huge font, with which one is constantly scrolling is not really. Can not recommend it.

Is this receiver a two way receiver? Local and global frequencies? Or just the global frequency?

It is a 2 channel receiver (518Khz and 490Khz). It will receive one or the other, simple button key press to change frequency.
