Owatrol D1 zieht sehr schnell und gut in das Holz (bei mir Teak) ein. Leicht zu verarbeiten und nach wenigen Stunden Staubtrocken.
Aber aufgepasst. Das Holz, z.B. Teak dunkelt etwas nach, obwohl D1 farblos ist. Nach dem intensiven streichen ist das Holz wasserabweisend und die Masserung kommt gut raus.

D1 darf nicht zu viel aufgetragen werden da ea dann unter der D" Schicht ausgast, auch nach mehreren Tagen Trockenzeit. Ansonsten ein sehr gutes Produkt.

Processing problematic
The oil has to be applied wet-on-wet every 20 minutes until it is completely saturated and is therefore very time-consuming. It took me almost a whole day for 2 cm thick teak. What is more problematic, however, is that when masking (even with very good masking tape), the oil runs under the masking and thus penetrates the wood in unwanted places and, as it soaks into the wood, can no longer be removed.
I can't say anything about UV resistance or durability, as I only applied it this season (2024).

Hello! I chose this product after carefully comparing it with other products from SVB to treat a solid wooden cross that I wanted to permanently preserve. Well, the described "absorption" of D.1 didn't occur – it wasn't as promised, even though I sanded the wood as required. I don't think the wood is "saturated" here. I'll apply D.2 several more times now and then I'll see if the information about permanent wood preservation is correct. At the moment, I'm not very convinced – unfortunately, I couldn't confirm the product description regarding its properties.
