Easy to process, good optics
I'm building a boat and have treated visible wood with Owatrol D1. It doesn't smell unpleasant even when it's warm, it's easy to process and leaves a nice, warm look.
Disadvantages (in my opinion)
- Long drying time of several days, even in warm conditions (However, that's exactly what mine is
According to our assessment - a guarantee that the oil can really penetrate the wood surface!)
- At first you may notice a slight "sticking" of the wooden surface - wooden floor boards quickly pick up dusty dirt when you walk over them at this stage.
Advantages (in my opinion)
- Processing with a brush (no spray gun necessary, I haven't tried a roller)
- Visually and haptically pleasant end result
I can't rate the long-term effect ("impregnation") yet...
But so far it convinces me.
