The Harken Carbo Block is a compact and reliable block for a variety of sailing applications. Thanks to the smooth-running ball bearings, the sheave operates with minimal friction and ensures efficient power transfer when trimming the lines.
Cheeks and sheave are made from robust, lightweight Carbo-composite, providing the block with an excellent weight-to-strength ratio. The fixed attachment ensures stable lead of the line and is ideal for sheets and control lines on dinghies, sport boats, and smaller yachts.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Blocks:
- Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (carefully assist with a soft brush if necessary).
- For heavier soiling: Soak the block in warm fresh water with a little dish soap and move the rollers (do not use harsh cleaners).
- Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt can be forced into the bearing.
- Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards to prevent corrosion.
- Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – improper lubrication can impair their function.
- Disassemble only if explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
