The Harken Carbo Ratchet Block is a robust and versatile block with a ratchet function – perfect for heavily used trim and control lines on board. The lightweight Carbo-composite construction combined with low-friction ball bearings ensures exceptionally smooth operation and efficient power transfer.
Thanks to the integrated ratchet function, the line can be securely held in defined positions as needed – perfect for repeated adjustments of sheets, halyards, or runners. The stable construction ensures long-lasting reliability even under high loads.

Cleaning and Maintenance of Blocks:

Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (carefully assist with a soft brush if necessary).
For heavier soiling: Soak the block in warm fresh water with a little dish soap and move the rollers (do not use harsh cleaners).
Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt can be forced into the bearing.
Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards to prevent corrosion.
Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – improper lubrication can impair their function.
Disassemble only if explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
