The
Harken swivel base with tall arm is a flexible and robust mounting solution for your cleats, blocks, or other deck hardware. The raised arm provides increased leverage and greater clearance from the deck, allowing for improved line lead and optimal load angles. The swivel base enables the mounted hardware to be aligned freely and adjusted to changing lead angles, making it especially useful in dynamic trimming situations or when multiple lines are in use. Its strong and durable construction ensures reliable performance even under heavy loads.
This swivel base is ideal for use with blocks, cleats, or other fittings on dinghies, sport boats, and yachts where a versatile and robust mounting solution is required.
Characteristics:
- Swivel base with tall arm for flexible alignment
- Improves line lead through elevated mounting position
- Robust, durable construction
- Ideal for blocks, cleats, or other deck hardware
- Perfect for dynamic trimming situations on board
Cleaning and Maintenance of Blocks:
- Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (carefully assist with a soft brush if necessary).
- For heavier soiling: Soak the block in warm fresh water with a little dish soap and move the rollers (do not use harsh cleaners).
- Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt can be forced into the bearing.
- Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards to prevent corrosion.
- Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – improper lubrication can impair their function.
- Disassemble only if explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
