The
Harken Zircon block is a lightweight and reliable block for versatile sailing applications. The Zircon series stands for an excellent price-performance ratio with solid performance and easy handling.
Thanks to free-running ball bearings, the sheave runs with particularly low friction and ensures efficient power transmission. The robust design makes the block durable and reliable - ideal for sheets, halyards or control lines on dinghies, sports boats and smaller yachts.
Properties:
- Smooth-running block from the Harken Zircon series
- Low-friction ball bearings for efficient operation
- Robust, durable construction
Cleaning and Maintenance of Blocks:
- Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (carefully assist with a soft brush if necessary).
- For heavier soiling: Soak the block in warm fresh water with a little dish soap and move the rollers (do not use harsh cleaners).
- Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt can be forced into the bearing.
- Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards to prevent corrosion.
- Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – improper lubrication can impair their function.
- Disassemble only if explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
