In my small electric campervan, this device replaces a gas stove. With 650W of solar panels on the roof and a 12V 4kWh LiFePO4 battery, I get by just fine. However, I didn't travel during the winter due to the cold.

Product details

Practical and efficient induction hob designed for installation on surfaces in yachts and mobile homes. This induction hob is the ideal solution for cooking and heating food and drinks quickly and easily. Use the integrated displayl with LED display to adjust power or set a timer. Connection via 1.5 metre cable with Schuko plug, perfect for use with a sine wave inverter. Supplied with UK plug adaptor. The hob can also be used as a surface-mounted version thanks to the feet.

Installation instructions:
The hob is inserted into the installation hole. Silicone or an MS polymer such as tikal 12 is recommended for bonding. Note: It is best to glue in such a way that the joint can be cut if necessary if the panel needs to be removed.

It works well, but it's a very, very noisy board.
Someone forgot to mention in the product description that these types of induction hobs are generally very noisy, as the fan runs continuously from the first second and continues for 30-90 seconds after being switched off. It's a very annoying and constant noise while the appliance is cooking.

I think the manufacturer, Sterling, hasn't been honest and omitted the noise level (in decibels) from the instruction manual (I checked it before buying). And rightly so; it would discourage many people from buying something so noisy.

I simply ask that the buyer has the right to know what they are buying, and not discover it at home when the purchase arrives. The noise issue should have been mentioned in some way in the description or the instruction manual.

On another note, the website says svb-marine.es, which suggests that the store and shipping are from Spain; however, it came from Bremen, Germany.

So if I want to return the product now, I imagine the return shipping will be very expensive.

In short, the website needs to improve its transparency if they want to ensure good customer service and avoid unpleasant surprises. I hope they take note and make changes to prevent situations like this from happening again.
