Finally something that works on board without any ifs or buts. Hose is slim enough for SOLE diesel. Suction speed not very fast, but very thorough with one pumping. Used oil - removal from the hose is not that easy, but it is feasible. The storage container shows the filling level very nicely by means of liter lines.

Product details

The PELA oil extractor pump is a manually operated vacuum pump for quick and simple removal of fluids, making engine oil changes, gear oil changes etc extremely easy and unproblematic. The pump is ideal for oil changes on boats, cars (although not recommended with angled dipsticks), lawn mowers, power equipment etc.

The suction hose is inserted into the engine through the dipstick opening. Simply move the pump lever up and down a few times to create a vacuum. The liquid (oil, bilge water, etc.) is then sucked in and collects inside the pump housing.

Ideal for use at home, in the garden and on board. The pump can be disassembled and easily stored. 6 litre capacity. Height: approx. 550 mm, housing diameter: approx. 230 mm Without automatic shut-off function.

Supplied with 1 nylon tube with an inner diameter of approx. 3 mm and a length of 2.10 m.

Note: This suction pump is not designed for the suction of fuels.

Oil change on Yanmar 3YM30 worked fine. If the flow of oil stopped, just pull the vacuum again, but gently, no more than the first. The collection container has rings. Each one stands for 1 liter, so you can easily estimate what came out and whether you still have to pump it up. Spout and cap are convenient for carrying away for disposal. I later used the container (holds 6L) to change the coolant. The containers are difficult to clean, the spout is too small for that. Hang up the suction line with the clear part facing down so you can see if anything else is coming. With a little patience, the part runs empty without leaving any residue, at least visually. The packaging is sufficiently stable. I added 2 funnels for oil and coolant changes and a silicone hose for draining the coolant, so everything you need is in one place.

Not bad but......
The pump is well made there is nothing to complain about. When it came to the function, I really expected more. The oil has to be really hot otherwise you wait what feels like an eternity and pump yourself to death until you have the oil out of the engine. It took me 2 hours to get 4 liters of oil out of the engine! The suction hose, which has a metal jacket, is good. You can hear when it hits the bottom of the oil pan. If you have the opportunity to run your engine until the oil is really hot, this pump is not wrong for you. I can only advise everyone else against this part.
